IBTA inspectors visit PIMS blood bank

A team of inspectors of the newly established Islamabad Blood Transfusion Authority (IBTA) has carried out an inspection for the registration of the Blood Bank of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
The inspectors studied in detail the functioning of the department and inspected the facilities available to the blood donors, the state of equipment for blood screening and component preparation.
They also inspected blood component storage capacity, the qualification and number of technical personnel, the management system in place and the physical infrastructure of the department.
The team assessed the technical, manpower and financial resources available and the workload of the department.
