Police on Thursday arrested two alleged accomplices of three terrorists who died in bomb blast in Chichwatni (Sahiwal district) on February 24. They were arrested from a village near Raiwind (Kasur district). They were identified as Hafiz Muhammad Shakir and Muhammad Munir. Police also took Muhammad Sharif the father of Adeel in its custody for interrogation.
It may be recalled that three terrorists of banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (two of them studying in Madarasah Aziz-ul-Aloom) died when a bomb of high intensity exploded due to their recklessness and their bodies turned into pieces in Chichawatni, some 100 km east of Multan on Saturday morning, when they were taking this bomb to a "Qul Khawani" of a police inspector Rana Saeed Akhtar, former SHO Khanewal who was kidnapped and killed by the dacoits where a large number of police officers including Regional Police Officer Mirza Muhammad Ali, DPO Sahiwal, Syed Javed Ali Shah (who is on the hit list of terrorists), Nazimeen and other officers of civil administration.
When contacted, the DPO Sahiwal Syed Javed Ali Shah declined to confirm the arrest of Hafiz Shakir and Muhammad Munir, however he confirmed that a number of people were taken into custody for interrogation while students of religious seminary were released after initial inquiry. Sources said that Shehzad Teddy had contacted Hafiz Shakir and Muhammad Munir over cell phone and SIM of phone which was found at site of incident, helped the police to reach to them.
