Ericsson signs GSM deal in India

Telecom equipment maker Ericsson said on February 27 that it had signed three-year GSM expansion contract with Indian mobile firm IDEA Cellular. Under the deal, Ericsson will provide radio access, microwave transmission and softswitch technology.
It did not disclose the financial details of the deal. The network will be built in the Indian states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
