Shaukat asks people to follow Shah Latif's teachings

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Sunday asked people to follow teachings of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, great mystic poet as his poetry is rich of message for peace, love, brotherhood and tolerance.
He was addressing a gathering arranged by Sindh Culture Department after inaugurating 263rd Urs of saint poet Shah Bhitai at Bhit Shah, 50 kilometre from here on Sunday. Earlier he opened Urs by laying floral wreath on Mazar of Shah Latif.
He said he was glad to come to Bhit Shah. The poetry of Shah Latif is sung and heard throughout Sindh and has influence on people. His message provides lesson of love and brotherhood. It is light of beacon for Pakistan. Shaukat Aziz said Shah's poetry was encyclopaedia in which poetry is said on each subject. By reading his poetry one feels spiritual satisfaction.
Muslim Ummah was facing challenges especially those of terrorism, extremism and sectarianism, which can be eliminated by spreading message of Shah Latif of love and tolerance, he observed.
He said government introduced district government system, which was solving problems of people at their doorsteps. He said he was satisfied that Chief Minister Arbab Rahim was working with his coalition partners and taking Sindh towards development and progress.
``I am glad people are joining Pakistan Muslim League and advise others to do so to accomplish mission of Quaid-i-Azam.' He announced funds for water supply and drainage schemes for Matiari district. Federal government would bear half expenses on renovation of Bhitai shrine and provide funds to establish library in each district of Sindh.
Dr Arbab Rahim presented welcome address. Federal Minister for Information Muhammad Ali Durrani, Sindh Auqaf Minister Manzoor Panhwar, Culture Minister Rauf Siddiqui, Zila Nazim Muhammad Ali Shah Jamote also addressed the gathering.
