Rs 7.6 million being spent on 4 Auqaf projects: minister

The Punjab Auqaf department is spending an amount of Rs 7.6 million on the execution of four different developmental schemes in Bahawalpur zone for reconstruction/renovation of shrines to increase income.
The provincial Auqaf Minister Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah informed this to a 20-member seminary students' delegation from Bahawalpur at his secretariat office on Monday. Briefing the delegation about developmental projects of Auqaf department, he said that an amount of Rs 1.5 million was being spent on the construction of 10 shops at the shrine of Hazrat Channan Pir in Yazman Tehsil.
The minister said that the Auqaf department was spending another amount of Rs 2 million on the completion of construction work at the shrines of Hazrat Syed Fazal Hussain Gillani and Hazrat Zakir Hussain Shah in Fort Abbas area.
"The Auqaf department is spending Rs 600,000 for the setting up of closed circuit TV security system at Masjid Al-Sadiq, Bahawalpur and construction of lavatory block at shrine Hazrat Khawaja Noor Muhammad Maharvi in Chishtian is also underway", he informed.
The minister advised the students to broaden their mental ken through Information Technology and also study world literature and keep themselves abreast of latest developments taking place around them. The project of setting up model seminaries by Auqaf department will go a long way in developing seminaries according to new needs and requirements, concluded the minister.
