All set to observe Women's Day today

All arrangements have been finalised to observe the International Women Day on March 8 (Thursday) in a befitting manner in the province. All the district and tehsil population welfare officers have been directed to arrange baby shows, seminars, workshops, walks and speech competitions in their respective areas in this regard.
Pattan and other NGOs have planned to organise a big rally from Sports Ground for the awareness regarding status of women in the society and protection of rights of women. Dr Farzana Bari said that population welfare department has decided to set up stalls and medical camps about population planning not only on all international and national days but also on Urs, Melas and other local festivals.
The government has directed the officers to keep close liaison with the concerned Nazims, Naib Nazims and elites to invite them as chief guests on the forthcoming International Women Day celebrations. It also stressed the officers to hold more camps in far-flung and less developed areas and ensure frequent tours of mobile service units so that awareness about negative impact of large family could be conveyed at the doorsteps of the masses.
