Four notorious gangs busted

The Multan police smashed four gangs of notorious dacoits and arrested 17 gangsters, besides seizing 524 bottles of liquor, 50 bottles of alcohol and a large quantity of narcotics from 72 persons, as claimed by the DPO Multan Munir Ahmed Chishti.
He said that in their drive against antisocial elements, the police arrested 72 persons on the charge of keeping illicit arms and also recovered six rifles, four pistols, six revolvers, 11 daggers, 97 bullets, six guns and 10 carbines. The police also recovered two-kg charas and arrested 23 persons on the charge of drinking.
He told that the police had smashed four gangs and arrested 17 gangsters, besides recovering from them looted and stolen goods, including six motorcycles, three tractors, one mobile phone and some illicit arms. The police also recovered stolen and looted valuables worth Rs 8.737 million, including gold ornaments worth Rs 4.729 million. The police arrested 281 proclaimed offenders who were wanted by the police and local courts in a number of cases.
