08 Mar, 2007

Israeli forces surrounded the Palestinian military intelligence headquarters in Ramallah on Wednesday, detaining 18 militants who heeded their call through loudspeakers to surrender.
Palestinian security sources said the men belonged to al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, part of President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction, and were also members of the Palestinian security services. The Israeli army said the 18 were involved in shooting attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers and in attempts to kidnap Israelis.
