Aman 2007 helps root out terrorism: Naval chief

The grand naval exercise, 'Aman 07' which is hosted by Pakistan Navy, would help make possible for maritime nations of the world to root out terrorism, said on Friday Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir.
He was talking to the newsmen during his visit to observe the ongoing multinational naval exercise Aman 07, which is currently in its sea phase. The naval chief said that setting up of a stage for such grandeur exercise involved a year long planning and hectic efforts.
Not being oblivious of our primary duty of safeguarding the maritime frontiers, this was a gigantic task, the undertaking of which is a testimony to our substantial contribution towards peace and harmony in the region.
Admiral Tahir appreciated highly enthusiastic response from the regional and extra regional maritime forces and observers for participation in this mega exercise.
"This indeed is a reflection of the confidence which these navies repose on us given our capability and professionalism", he added. He expressed his complete satisfaction over the conduct of entire exercise.-PR
