The rupee improved with slight gain of one paisa against the dollar in the interbank market on Friday for buying and selling at 60.71 and 60.72, respectively.
The supply of dollars was good and helped the rupee to recover some gains and it seems that the stability will continue due to said reason in the days to come, dealers said. In the world markets, the dollar improved with slight gains against the major currencies in the process of trading, they said.
The dollar and major currencies have bounced back strongly against the yen in the past few days as global stock markets have recovered from a sell-off and made investors comfortable about rebuilding carry trades.
