Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal Parliamentary Leader in Sindh Assembly Maulana Mohammad Umar Sadiq said on Sunday that Benazir Bhutto wanted to come in power by making deal with the government and was hatching conspiracies to oust Nawaz Sharif from country politics.
Addressing newsmen at the local press club, he said that those who signed the Charter of Democracy were afraid of MMA's rising popularity among masses.
The MMA leader said that combined opposition needed to tender joint resignations in order to save the country, because there would be no impact on the government by the sole MMA resignations. He said that all the departments should be given under the control of provinces except defence, foreign and currency.
He said that MMA had presented 38-point proposal to the government about the provincial autonomy. He said that the present government had abruptly failed as price hike, lawlessness, unemployment had risen to its peak in the country, particularly in Sindh.
The MMA leader also criticised General Pervez Musharraf for suspending Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and said that this act was condemnable.
