Former Country Director, World Bank, John W Wall has appreciated the artistic work and professionalism of the photographers for capturing the scenic beauty of their motherland. He was addressing the annual members photographic exhibition organised by Islamabad Camera Club (ICC) in collaboration with the Lok Virsa here on Sunday.
John Wall said Pakistani artistic talent was recognised internationally, which results in booming of human creativity in Pakistan.
The ICC was celebrating its 9th anniversary and in this connection the photographic exhibition was arranged to mark the achievements of the club.
The displayed photos of the members of ICC presented the awesome creativity of the Pakistani photographers.
Some of the photos depicted Pakistani culture including folk dances, Pakistani food, village scenes, sunset scenes and other miscellaneous themes.
Photos based of village scenes highlighted the culture, beauty and peace of villages which is also a source of attraction for foreigner and local visitors.
The delightful sunset photos rejuvenating the moods with a peaceful touch are a fascinating part of the exhibition, which enchants nature lovers.
Another aspect of the exhibition was the photos of historical buildings of Pakistan which are the identity of the country and also an important part of our history.
Few of the photos showed the concept of four seasons of the country include colours of Spring with blooming flowers, mystic beauty of rain, snowfall on mountains and more. President, ICC, Dr S. M. Malik said on the occasion that Pakistani photographers excel the art of photography which has been accepted as excellent art internationally.
He also highlighted the importance of such exhibitions for the promotion of artistic activities and the latest techniques and hoped that such programmes would further enhanced to improve professional skills.
Later, the awards were distributed among the members of ICC for their contribution and efforts, the "Life Time Achievement Award" was given to Aftab Ahmed who worked for promotion of the art.
