15,000 litres seized liquor, narcotics to be destroyed

The Collectorate of Customs, Rawalpindi, will destroy 14,000-15,000 litres confiscated liquor, narcotics and other expired items on Wednesday, March 14. Sources told Business Recorder on Monday that the CBR Member Customs Shahid Rahim Sheikh would be the chief guest at the ceremony.
According to details, liquor recovered from Muslims and unfit for human consumption would be destroyed. The exercise would be conducted in line with CBR guidelines that all agencies, which have confiscated liquor, would check whether it was fit for human consumption. The expiry date, wherever given on the cans of beers and wine bottles, would be taken as relevant date to determine its fitness. The procedure clarified that the liquor not found fit for human consumption would be outrightly destroyed and accounted for, properly.
