Completion of work on hospital, college directed

The Department of Health, government of NWFP has directed initiation of work on the up gradation project of Saidu Group of Hospitals and Medical College to get the project completed within the stipulated time.
The directives were issued by NWFP Minister for Health, Inayatullah Khan while presiding over a high level meeting regarding Saidu Group of Hospitals and Medical College at the Health Secretariat Peshawar on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by MPA Mohammad Amin, Secretary Health Abdus Samad, DCO Swat, Mehmood Yousafzai, Principal Saidu Medical College Dr Javed Zaman and high ups of Health and Finance Departments. The meeting reviewed in detail pace of work on the project and gave suggestions to remove certain obstacles in this regard. It also took various important decisions to expedite work on the project.
The meeting directed the concerned authorities to get design of the project completed as earlier as possible. Similarly the concerned authorities were ordered to make payment on account of the land acquired for the construction of the hospital.
The meeting also expressed concern over the insufficient budget of the hospitals and decided to convene a meeting of Secretary Health, Secretary Finance and Principal Saidu Medical College to draft a proposal for provision of budget allocations to the Saidu Group of Hospital on the basis of patients load.
Likewise Secretary Health was directed to ensure provision of emergency fund to the hospital. Moreover, inclusion of provision of two vehicles for Saidu Medical College in the next ADP was also ordered. Similarly preparation of a summary to provide staff cars to Principal Saidu Medical College and Medical Superintendent of the Hospital was also ordered.
The Health minister on this occasion directed the principal of Saidu Medical College to ensure implementation of the decisions taken in the meeting in letter and spirit.
