Ahmed Ali Khan's death condoled

The department of Mass Communication, University of Karachi, has condoled the death of veteran journalist and former editor of daily Dawn, Ahmed Ali Khan. A condolence meeting was held at the department on Wednesday in which speakers paid glowing tributes to the late editor for his valuable services for the cause of journalism.
They specifically mentioned his role in making Dawn a truly independent newspaper of Pakistan. The former Chairperson of the Department, a veteran journalist and a one time colleague of Ahmed Ali Khan, Professor Zakariyya Sajid eulogised his services and said besides being the best editor of his time, his services for improving the working conditions of the journalists would also be remembered for a long time.
A senior journalist and a former chairperson of the Department Professor Dr Nisar Zuberi talked about his devotion to his profession and said he never had time for himself as he used to remain in office since early in the morning till late in the night.
Another former Chairperson Professor Dr Tahir Masood and a senior faculty member Professor M. Inam Bari also spoke on the occasion. The faculty members and a large number of students of the Department attended the meeting. A resolution of condolence was also adopted on this occasion.
