Singapore bunker prices rose marginally on Friday, forcing buyers to stay away, as the differential to fuel oil rose to $7-$8 a tonne, traders said. "There is not much demand from shipowners, I am also staying away from the market," a Western-based vessel operator said.
"Any prompt demand within the next few days will be priced very high," he added. Prices for 380-centistoke (cst) bunker fuel were pegged at $301-$303 a tonne, while its differential to fuel oil cargoes rose to a $7.15 a tonne premium, versus $6.60 from Thursday's close.
