The sale of locally assembled motorcycles rose marginally in February compared with the previous month taking the cumulative figure for eight months (July-February) to 301,826 units.
According to the figures provided by Pakistan Auto Manufacturers Association (PAMA), motorcycle sales were recorded at 38,128 units in February as compared to 37,667 units in January, while Honda was the market leader, selling 27,023 units, followed by Yamaha with 4,803 and Suzuki with 2,334 units.
Other manufacturers, including Sohrab, Qingqi and Fateh Hero sold 450, 1,381 and 1,757 units, respectively, while the sales of Triwheeler were recorded at 380 units.
The number of units sold remained lower than the units produced, as 38,128 units were sold in February against 39,484 units produced during the month. During eight months, the sales amounted to 301,826 units against 301,872 units produced.
