Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Amanullah Khan Jadoon Saturday said that as a result of introducing vibrant policies of deregulation liberalisation and privatisation by the government the petroleum sector has witnessed a tremendous growth in last few years.
He said this while talking to Managing Director of Hungarian MOL Company, Janos Feher who called on him here to discuss matters pertaining to promoting co-operation in the oil & gas sector. The minister said the government would encourage and facilitate the prospective investors in onshore and offshore oil and gas exploration.
He said the new petroleum policy being announced shortly would give further impetus to the ongoing oil and gas exploration in the country. He appreciated the MOL contribution for boosting the oil and gas exploration activities in NWFP and asked the company to participate in other parts of the country for the mutual advantage.
The Managing Director of MOL briefed the minister about the oil and gas exploration activities being undertaken by his company in NWFP. He lauded the investor-friendly policies being pursued by the government of Pakistan attracting investment in the country. Secretary Petroleum Ahmad Waqar and member of MOL delegation were also present in the meeting.
