Seven benches established for next week

Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Javed Iqbal has constituted seven benches of the Apex Court for the next week starting from March 19 (Monday) to hear hundreds of cases including suo motu case of manhandling of Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry at Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi Registries.
According to the cause list issued by the fixture department of the Supreme Court for next week, four benches of the apex court comprising Acting Chief Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan (Bench-I), Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, Justice Syed Jamshed Ali Shah and Justice Hamid Ali Mirza (Bench-II), Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi, Justice Nasirul Mulk and Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed (Bench-III) and Justice M.Javed Buttar and Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmed (Bench-IV) will hear hundreds of cases of various nature at the Islamabad Registry of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Two benches of the Supreme Court comprising Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday and Justice Falak Sher (Bench-I) and Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and Justice Tassaddaque Hussain Jillani (Bench-II) will hear cases of various nature at the Lahore Registry of the Apex Court.
Only one bench comprising Justice Saiyed Saeed Ashhad and Justice Ghulam Rabbani will hear cases at Karachi Registry of the Supreme Court. According to a special note, "No application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the court. If the counsel is unable to appear for any reason the advocate-on-Record (AOR) will be required to argue the case. No adjournment on any ground will be granted."
