The Management Association of Pakistan instituted the Corporate Excellence Award in 1982 with a view to encourage companies to adopt the best management practices being practised by their counterparts the world over.
I am glad to say that the Award has been an stimulant for the companies as a prestigious accolade to run for. The criteria and assessment process of the Award have been systematic and comprehensive but MAP has kept its tradition of strict watch alive and it has been under constant review by the Executive Committee as well as the Corporate Excellence Award Sub-committee.
The Award criteria and assessment process were reviewed during the process of the 23rd Award and the current Award has been worked out on the basis of the criteria developed for that Award.
I take this opportunity to thank the members of the Executive Committee for their timely guidance and members of the Corporate Excellence Award Sub-committee for their contribution and support and the MAP Secretariat for implementing the decisions of the Committees in working out the 24th Corporate Excellence Award.
I also gratefully acknowledge the co-operation of the management's of the nominated companies in working out the Award as without their co-operation it would not have been possible for us to finalise the Award. At the end, I congratulate the winners of the Award and certificates for their exemplary performance.
