Rains damage mango orchards

Recent heavy rains have damaged the mango orchards in the district and the growers have called upon the horticulture experts to come to the rescue and help with damage control. Mango growers are concerned that if timely measures are not taken, the mango produce in the area, which is famous for best quality, will reduce drastically.
They said that not only the flowering had been affected, the fruition process had also suffered and the fruit had fallen prey to several diseases, besides undergoing pest attack.
