Government urged to support dying art of puppetry

The organisers of Rafi Peer Theatre Group have urged the government to take immediate steps to support the dying art of puppetry, which will help promote peace, brotherhood and harmony in the society.
They were talking to newsmen at the National Folk Puppet Festival 2007, which was inaugurated by Dr Sissel Volan, Minister Counsellor Deputy Head of Mission from Royal Norwegian Embassy, here on Wednesday. Punjab Governor, Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) was scheduled to inaugurate the festival, but he could not turn up due to his illness.
