To mark the advent of the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, First Lady Sehba Musharraf and women ministers paid reverence to Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) at a Mehfil-e-Milad held at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday.
The ceremony filled with spiritual ambience, attended by Begum Zareen Musharraf, mother of President Pervez Musharraf, women parliamentarians and other ladies from various walks of life. The gathering was given a lecture based on Islamic teachings focusing on the welfare of humanity.
It was highlighted that Islam believed in developing a society, which maintained peace and harmony and shunned terrorism. Later, prayers were offered for the unity of Muslim Ummah and for the prosperity of Pakistan.
