PSQCA to issue 'conformation reports'

The Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) has been given the mandate to inspect and issue 'Conformance Assessment Reports' to products and services for their quality specifications and characteristics for import and export purposes.
The Central Board of Revenue recently issued necessary instructions to all its Customs Directorates for obtaining Conformity Assessment Report from PSQCA before the products are released in Pakistan. It may be mentioned here that such quality restrictions imposed by the Government of Pakistan conform to the WTO/TBT set requirements in order to serve the country to be dumping yard for imported articles of questionable/inferior quality status.
