PML terms strike call undemocratic, non-political

PML rejected the strike call of March 26 and termed as undemocratic, non-political and unnecessary and it has warned that the opposition should refrain from achieving its narrow political interests out of a purely constitutional and legal issue and give up its efforts to create rift among national institutions.
This was stated in a resolution passed during a meeting of executive council of Pakistan Muslim League held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi here on Saturday, disclosed a PML's spokesman.
A total three resolutions were passed which were presented by Minister for Defence, Rao Sikander Iqbal and Senior Vice President PML Punjab and Provincial Minister for Agriculture Muhammad Arshad Khan Lodhi. In the resolution, traders' community was also congratulated for rejecting the strike call and an appeal was made to the Punjab Chief Minister to provide complete protection to the life and property of traders as well as their business activities.
In another resolution, complete confidence was expressed in the leadership of President Pervez Musharraf and rich tributes were paid to him for his courage and determination and his historic efforts for the strengthening of democratic system and defence of the country.
