Nation asked to wait for SJC verdict

Chief Minister Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday asked the entire nation to act with patience and wait for the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) decision over Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry. He stated this in a press briefing with Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Rahim here at Muslim League House on Sunday.
Elahi who arrived Karachi on Sunday, was welcomed by CM Sindh at the airport. On reaching Muslim League House, the Chief Minister Punjab held a press conference in which he told media men that the SJC is the most respectable body of the judiciary and the entire nation should wait for its decision with patience.
Elahi denied talking over the issue of evidences provided against Justice Iftikhar by Punjab government.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said the baton charge and police action on lawyers and journalists in Punjab was only a reaction of stone pelting by them on policemen. However, Punjab has no policy of torture against protestors, he added.
