BRIndex30 sheds 72.03 points

On Monday, the BRIndex30 opened in the positive zone at 12,394.94, with a jump gap of 73.03 and, after remaining there for almost an hour of trading time, fell in the red zone.
However, it soon made a recovery but again fell shortly thereafter and remained in the negative zone for the rest of the trading time, closing at 12,249.88 with a negative change of -72.03 points and percentage change of -0.58.
The BRIndex30 registered an intra-day high of 12,399.39 and low of 12,227.44. The volume amounted to 86,581,600, which was 81.95 percent of market total and 88.85 percent of KSE-100 index.
The volumes of KSE All Share and KSE-100 were 105,653,620 and 97,441,580 shares respectively. BR Commercial Banks Index was the most active sector. It closed at 5,057.06 with a net negative change of -108.5 points or -2.1 percent. The turnover for this sector was 40,032,300 shares.
BR Cement Index was the second most active sector. It closed at 1,426.48 with a net positive change of 11.32 or 0.80 percent. The volume was 19,195,700 shares. BR Oil and Gas Index closed at 2,027.95 with a net positive change of 12.06 or 0.60 percent. The volume was 13,038,800.
BR Power Generation and Distribution Index closed at 1,318.90 with an upward change of 4.04 or 0.31 percent. The turnover for this sector was 7,439,500. BR Tech. & Comm. Index closed at 1,456.92 with a net upward change of 19.56 or 1.36 percent. The volume of this sector was 7,302,700, which was the lowest among BR Indices.
