President General Pervez Musharraf on Monday conferred the award of Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) on Admiral Yener Karahanoglu, Commander Turkish Naval Forces here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The award of Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) has been conferred on him in recognition of his endeavours for strengthening cooperation between the Naval forces of Pakistan and Turkey. Earlier Admiral Yener Karahanoglu called on President General Pervez Musharraf.
The President recalled the extremely close and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkey and lauded his services in giving a meaningful and purposeful orientation to these ties. Admiral Yener Karahanoglu thanked the government for conferring the prestigious award on him. Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir Chief of Naval Staff, Engin Soysal Ambassador of Turkey, and other high officials were also present.
