Jamaat-i-Islami concerned over Musharraf's Saudi Arabia visit

Jamaat-i-Islami has expressed serious concern at President Musharraf's visit to Saudi Arabia to attend the Arab League meeting this week. JI deputy chief Senator Professor Khurshid Ahmad expressed his apprehension that this meeting is being convened to pressurise Hamas to recognise Israel and surrender to the US-Israel pressure.
"Pakistan has stood with the Palestinian people throughout their struggle for liberation from British Rule and from Israeli Occupation". "General Pervez Musharraf is playing a very dubious role to promote US policy in the Middle East and is collaborating with those Arab rulers who have lost all credibility and illegitimacy in the eyes of their own people,"Professor Khurshid Ahmad said.
Professor Khurshid Ahmad asked General Musharraf "How can Israel be recognised when it is an Occupying Power in Palestine? How can Israel be recognised when insists on having undefined borders and has illegitimately occupied most of the Palestine land?
How can Israel be recognised when on the one hand it has opened for all Jews the doors to come back from any part of the world on the basis of an imaginary claim of "right to return" to the holy land but is not prepared to accept the right of the Palestinian people who were physically thrown out of their own homeland?"
