Early release of uplift funds sought

Industrialists of Kotlakhpat Industrial Estate have demanded of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi and provincial Minister for Industries Ajmal Cheema to release Rs 200 million, approved for development work in Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Estate phase II.
According to Estate's spokesman here on Tuesday, Mian Abuzar Shad, Irfan Qaiser and Khamis Saeed Butt said the work has been stopped because of shortage of funds. They further said the credit of completion of Phase I of Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Estate goes to QIE president Mian Nauman Kabir and other members of Board of Management and the industrialists now can work in a safe and secure environment. A network of carpeted roads has ensured the access of foreign buyers to the industrial units in the area, they added.
