'Friendship with Pakistan to further grow'

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing said on Sunday evening that 50 years old friendship between China and Pakistan would continue to gain strength in the future as well. Li Zhaoxing is currently visiting Pakistan. On Sunday he had a meeting with Senate Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro.
During his talk, he remarked that his country and Pakistan shared identity of views on a number of regional and international questions. Thus, "Pakistan and China's half a century old friendship is based upon solid foundations and would go from strength to strength in the days to come." Appreciating Pakistan's achievements in the economic fields the visiting foreign minister was confident of Pakistan's continued progress in all fields.
Senate Chairman Soomro reciprocated the sentiments of the Chinese dignitary and also referred to the all-weather friendship between the two countries that had stood the test of time and thus became a source of strength and stability in the region. 'This friendship would continue to blossom,' Chairman Soomro said.
He particularly mentioned the inauguration of Gwadar Port, which he said provided a window of opportunity for enhancing the economic growth in the region. He also talked of the joint production of JF-17 Fighter planes, a project that would boost and consolidate defence of both countries. The Chinese ambassador was present during the meeting.
