Sino-Pak ties deep-rooted: Nisar

Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production Leader Senator Nisar A. Memon said here on Monday that Sino-Pak friendly relations were deep rooted and would further strengthen with the exchange of visits.
Talking to mediamen on arrival on a weeklong visit at the invitation of Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, Nisar Memon said China was an important country for Pakistan, as it always extended help to the people of Pakistan during difficult times. "There are excellent contacts between people-to-people", he said.
Senate Standing Committee chairman said that interaction with elected representatives of the two countries could help effectively promote strong relations. To a question, Senator Nisar Memon said Pakistan fully supported China in the fold of Saarc, in the same way the China supported Pakistan in Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and other forums.
He said inclusion of China would prove very beneficial not only for the Saarc, but also for the people of those countries, adding that China was a big country and playing an important role in the region in political, social and economic sectors. Nisar Memon said close-contacts between the countries in the region would help in maintenance of peace and socio-economic uplift of their people.
