IIN-SMEDA & Intel sign MoU

The Industrial Information Network (IIN) SMEDA and Intel Pakistan Corporation on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create awareness about the adoption of latest technology among the business circles and make them able to compete the new challenges.
Under the MoU, initially four experience zones will be set up by Intel Pakistan at SMEDA's selected sights, which will facilitate SMEs to get information about the latest trends in technology as well as experience what role technology can play to enhance their business model.
The MoU was signed by Shahab Khawaja, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Industries, Production and Special Initiatives/CEO SMEDA and Shahzad Aslam Khan, Country Manager, Intel Pakistan Corporation.
Salman Khalid, Project Director, IIN, Ms Asma Aziz from Intel Pakistan and a number of the other senior officials from both the organisations were also present on the occasion. After signing the MoU document, Shahab Khawaja and Shahzad Aslam Khan expressed their views on scope of the collaboration between IIN and the Intel Pakistan Corporation.
Khawaja, while speaking as SMEDA CEO, said that IIN was launched by the government in 2005 to make SME sector of the country competitive in e-business. He said that the current MoU with Intel Pakistan Corporation would enhance IIN's effectiveness as Government of Pakistan's first B2B Portal. Khawaja said that the major aim of joining hands with Intel Pakistan Corporation is to provide SMEs with better facilities of e-business having an easy access to latest technology tools to achieve rapid growth for optimal level of profitability.
He hoped that the countries willing to do business in form of trading and other forms of sustainable relationships with the industrial and business communities of Pakistan will be able to have an easy access to the profiles of industries of their interest.-PR
