Medical Director of Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) Professor Dr Shamim Ahmed Khan has pledged to construct a new Surgical ICU Block at FMH in the name of his late wife Dr Shaheen Shamim Khan, Chief Economist, Government of the Punjab.
Punjab Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Khalid Maqbool will soon lay the foundation stone of this Block at FMH Shadman, Colony to be constructed at the cost of Rs 2.5 million. Dr Shaheen Shamim Khan passed away a year ago on 10th April, 2006. She died during the government service.
Dr Shaheen Khan did her Ph.D in Economics and remained attached with Planning and Development (P&D) Board for over two and half decades. She wrote as many as 80 research papers and half a dozen books on different subjects; some of them were published in India.
