Durrani stresses strengthening police-public ties

NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has said peace is the key factor for the development and prosperity of the society and MMA-led provincial government encourages honest and competent police officers to make law and order exemplary and invulnerable.
However, he emphasised on developing close liaison between the law enforcement agencies and general public. He was talking to a delegation from Hango led by MPA Akhunzada Muhammad Sadiq at Frontier House, Peshawar.
During the meeting Durrani said that the MPAs of MMA were belonging to the poor class of society and they could better realise the persisting problems in the areas and the provincial government was actively working for resolution of these problems.
The members of the delegation congratulated the chief minister on the victory of MMA candidate Ziad Akram Khan Durrani in the recently held by-election in Bannu and apprised him of the problems being faced by the people of Hango.
They specifically mentioned construction of hospital in Hango, up-gradation of a high school and irrigation related problems. Responding to the demands of the delegation, Durrani directed the concerned departments to resolve their problems on prompt basis according to their aspirations.
Durrani attributed the success of MMA candidates in time to time held by-elections in different parts of the country to the unflinching confidence of the people in policies and agenda of MMA and reflection of the honesty and sincere efforts of the workers of the alliance for the wellbeing and prosperity of common people.
Chief Minister on this occasion directed the law enforcing agencies to utilise all their energies and resources for making the law and order situation more improved. On the occasion Durrani appealed to the people of the province to play active role in the completion of ongoing development projects and help the law enforcement agencies to secure workers busy in uplift schemes.
He said that such schemes and social welfare organisations were assets of the people of the province and their security was a national responsibility. Contrary to the past governments, Durrani said his government was utilising national resources on the wellbeing and prosperity of the people of the province instead of usurping national wealth for their own benefits.
He said that the people's access to the government officials had been made easy that was the reason the popularity graph of the religious parties' alliance was on the increase.
Durrani on the occasion announced installation of 46 pressure pumps in Hango and a grant of Rs 50,000 for Hango Union of Journalists. He also approved a sum of Rs 25,000 for an eminent personality Maulana Abdul Basir for writing a religious book. The delegation thanked the chief minister for taking personal interest in resolving their grievances and listing to their problems patiently.
