Islamic doctrine on human rights protection praised

Provincial Minister for Human Rights, Makhdoom Ashfaq Ahmad has said that Islam had taken lead in propagating universal concept of human rights for all the human beings 1400 years ago. Islam has also negated sham claims of ethnic or linguistic superiority and told the world that 'Takwa' (piousness) was the only significant thing that carried weight before Allah.
He was talking to a 10-member delegation of law students of a private law college who called on him at his office on Monday. The minister maintained that Islam was a complete code of life, which ensured salvation of all human beings. The last sermon of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the best and complete charter of human rights which guarantees human rights protection of all humans and Pakistani society and also enjoys universal norms of tolerance and equality, he said. The minister impressed upon the law graduates to work for the promotion and protection of human rights at the grassroots.
