PZC approves Rs 67 million for deserving students

Provincial Zakat Council (PZC) has approved an amount of Rs 67 million for the deserving students, studying in different educational institutions in 10 districts of Punjab province. Chairman Provincial Zakat Council, Justice Muhammad Akram Baittu (Retd) revealed this while presiding over the 95th meeting of the Provincial Zakat Council in his office.
Besides others, Secretary Zakat and Ushr, Tauqir Ahmed Faiq, members of the Council Mahmood-ul-Hassan Arif, Zareena Tabassum Rana, Muhammad Jar Ullah Rizvi, Deputy Secretary Finance, Nadeem-ur-Rehman and representatives of social welfare and local government departments were also present in the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the implementation of decisions taken in the previous meeting of the council. Different matters including further betterment of Zakat system, division of districts among members for regular inspection, teaching of proposed courses to be taught in different vocational training institutes of Punjab against the central Zakat committee's decided guidance list and training of the members of the district Zakat committees came under discussion.
An amount of Rs 9.031 million has been allocated for the educational institutions of Sialkot whereas Rs 2.632 million for Pakpattan, Rs 809,988 for Mandi Bahaud Din, Rs 3.236 million for Muzaffargarh, Rs 19.041 million for Lahore, Rs 1.509 million for Chakwal, Rs 1.319 million for Jhelum, Rs 15.999 million for Faisalabad, Rs 10.846 million for Okara and Rs 2.543 million has been allocated for Rawalpindi district, the chairman added.
