Lawyers strike continues

The lawyers' community observed token strike against the suspension of Chief Justice Pakistan and did not appear before the courts for an hour. They also held hunger strike camps in the bar premises and wear black strips in protest. The bar office bearers, senior bar members and political and human rights activists joined the camps.
The bar members are continuously observing token strike on the call of 'Joint Action Committee'. Adliya Bachao Committee (ABC) also held a hunger strike camp for 29th consecutive day in the premises of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA). Convenor ABC Abdul Rashid Qureshi while keeping a photograph of Dr Qadeer Khan, in a chair condemned the government's action to detain him in his house illegally and without lawful authority.
