The Ministry for Water and Power has sanctioned Rs 117.78 million from its PSDP allocation for preparation of detailed engineering design and tender documents of Nai Gaj dam in Sindh province. Detailed engineering design and tender documents of the dam were decided this week after the completion of feasibility study of the dam in July last.
The engineering design which will take 18 months includes topographic survey and mapping, geological and geo-technical investigations, geophysical survey and investigations, hydraulic model studies and hydrological data collection. The objective of the project is to conserve water resources for irrigated agriculture development, protection from flood water and hydropower generation.
