PAF completes live missile firing exercise

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Monday completed a three-day "Live missile firing" exercise at Somniani Range, the PAF said. "In the live missile firing exercise, all types of fighter aircraft and surface-to-air missile units of PAF actively participated," a PAF statement said.
Various types of air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles on the inventory of PAF were successfully employed by the combat pilots and controllers during the exercise, it said. The statement said the missile firing camp -2007 was marked with accurate and skillful handling of the missiles by combat pilots and controllers.
"The missile firing camp is a yearly event in which PAF provides real time training to its fighter pilots and Air Defence controllers to enhance their skills by firing various categories of air-to-air, air-to-ground and surface-to-air missiles in real time battle field environments."
The statement said the live missiles firing exercise-2007 was witnessed by Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed, PAF Chief of the Air Staff, and a large number of senior officials of the three services. They lauded pilots and controllers for their professional and accurate firing of all types of missiles on PAF inventory, the statement said.
