Pakistan is a haven for indigenous as well as foreign investments, Chairman Senate Mohammadmian Soomro told a team of businesspersons from Oman, who called on him at the Parliament House on Tuesday. A ten-member Omani business team is currently visiting Pakistan for four days visit.
Salem Saeed EssaAl-Ghatami, Chairman Oman Chamber of Commerce and industry, leads the team. Talking to the business men's delegation the Chairman discussed at length about suitable investment climate in this country and said in Petro-chemicals, heavy industry and manufacturing sector would be ideal for joint venture investment, and added that tourism would also be beneficial field.
He also talked of the robust banking sector as well as the college of hardworking labour population and the strategic location that makes Pakistan a good choice for future investment.
As regard tourism he pointed out to the wealth of striking natural habitats in the northern areas where we had exotic lakes, valleys and mountain peaks, which would be natural destination for future tourists
The Chairman also talked of the new commissioned Gawadar port which had added new dimension and bids fair to becoming a hub for manufacturing sectors specially for hotel industry, real estate, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas as well as power generation.
The delegation evinced interest in promoting tourism. They also said they were interested in education and Omani lads might seek education in Pakistani universities in preference to Europe. In this regard, the Oman delegation also noted economic developments in Pakistan with appreciation. Senator Siddiqui and Ambassador of Oman Muhammad Bin Muhammad Al-Lawati were present in the meeting.
