Opposition Leader in the Senate and Deputy General Secretary of Pakistan Peoples' Party Mian Raza Rabbani said on Thursday that people were suffering hardships in very hot season due to ongoing load shedding by the Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation (KESC).
The citizens are left to face prolonged load shedding for ten to twelve hours daily but rulers are showing indifferent attitude towards this matter, which needs to be resolved on priority basis. The Senator alleged despite privatisation, inept administration of KESC had entirely ruined its system and plunged the whole city into darkness.
Each and every step of rulers was based on torturing the masses whether it was matter of downsizing or rightsizing of national organisations or load shedding, he said. Rabbani demanded cancellation of privatisation of the KESC and involving public sector in power generation sector.
