Partly Facetious: when blame throwing is the norm...

21 Apr, 2007

"So what's happening in Iraq?"
"You just look in your own backyard first."
"Getting sarcastic are we!"
"The point is that we should really clean up our act otherwise this country is fast going on the road to self-destruction."
"I understand we have had a few issues lately..."
"Few issues? Not a day goes by when there is no blast or killing. You can label it insurgents, foreigners, Uzbeks or Afghans whatever but the point is that our country is now never free of violent death even for a single day. I am sick and tired of hearing gas lines being blown up..."
"You can't blame Musharraf for this! This is the new world order we live in." "Why can't we blame him? There was no insurgency in Afghanistan or Balochistan before him. The Maulvi Brothers were not active in our capital and let's be honest even though Nawaz Sharif had probably the lowest IQ of any Prime Minister we have ever had..."
"And we have had some with pretty low IQs notwithstanding their affiliations with international organisations..." "Well, those affiliations got them the job and high flown ideas but not how to implement them. For that you need a home grown politician." "I would tend to agree." "Anyway, during the previous government and here I mean pre-Musharraf things were not as bad."
"That is certainly true." "So shouldn't someone take the blame?" "The Chosen One..." "Come off it - that guy has no powers." "Well, in the land of the pure, blame throwing is the norm if you know what I mean." "Don't I just!"
