Milk prices fixed in Hyderabad

The Chairman District Milk Price Control Committee Q. Muhammad Hakim has warned the milk retailers, wholesalers, chillers and big Bara owners not to sell their milk above the fixed price, failing which legal action would be taken against them.
This warning was given while presiding over a meeting of the District Milk Price Control Committee at Shahbaz Hall, Shahbaz Building Hyderabad. All the taluka magistrates, taluka police officers and the members of the committee attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Q. Muhammad Hakim said that an agreement in between milk retailers, wholesalers, chillers, big Barra owners and district administration was made in recent past in which all the milk sellers unanimously agreed that they would sell milk at Rs 2 than the Karachi rate within the district limits.
Subsequently the rate of milk was fixed at Rs 28 per kg for the retailers and Rs 25.75 per kg for the wholesalers. He said that the district government had also constituted District Milk Price Control Committee to get the agreement implemented and ensure availability of the milk on agreed rates.
He said that with the passage of time now the District Price Control Committee was receiving complaints from different areas of the district, consequently it has been decided to take action against the violators. He said that since the variation in the milk rates in Karachi has not been evaluated and reported to the district government
