Dr Azhar Javed, 50, of International Islamic University's head of Law and Sharia faculty died on Tuesday of heart failure. His funeral prayer was attended by a large number of people including IIU faculty, students and staff members, and laid to rest at his native town Losar Sharfu, Wah Cantt. He leaves behind a widow and three sons.
Dr Javed stayed at the IIU as teacher for about 20 years, after obtaining PhD from the University of Leeds in the UK. The IIU President, Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqee, paid rich tributes for his services to the University, and also prayed for eternal peace to his soul and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
