Punjab government has released a special fund of Rs 200 million for development of a modern housing colony spreading over 200 acres land near Sialkot. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Wednesday that the step has been taken to provide housing facility to low-income people of Sialkot.
The colony would be developed land near Sialkot international airport and 2480 residential plots would be developed. Work on the project would be undertaken shortly, they added.
The colony would have hospital, dispensaries, mother and child care centre, mosques and graveyard. Schools and colleges would also be built. Basic facilities like roads, sewerage system, underground electricity lines and water supply and disposal work would also be ensured in the colony, sources said.
