A meeting of Punjab University Deans' Committee held under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Lieutenant General Arshad Mahmood (Retd) here on Friday. The meeting was to review the distance and online learning programme.
According to this programme, Pakistani as well as foreign students living abroad will be provided with online study facilities and after completing their studies at homes the university will award them degrees.
Initially the programme will be offered to the students of Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. Punjab University is already a leading university in distance learning, video conference lecture delivering between its two campuses of Lahore and Gujranwala. With the implementation of online study system it will be the first University of Pakistan to provide this facility outside the country.
