Sindh University Arts Faculty Auditorium named after Shaikh Ayaz

Sindh University syndicate recognising valuable services rendered by Shaikh Ayaz as intellectual, writer, poet and former Vice Chancellor of the University, approved the naming of Arts Faculty Auditorium as "Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium" in its 160th meeting here on Saturday.
The meeting was presided over by Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Mazharul Siddiqui. Justice Azizullah Memon, MPA Muhammad Rafeeq Banbhan, Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, Dr Lutfullah Mangi, Professor Agha Riaz Hassan, Dr Mahmoodul Hassan Mughal, Professor Ahmed Ali Shaikh, Dr A Q Mughal, Dr G A Miana, Fazilullah Qureshi, Ghulam Muhammad Soomro, Professor Muhib Ali Leghari, Registrar Muhammad Saleh Rajar and others attended the meeting.
The syndicate approved the establishment of "Hafiza Bano Abbas Bhai Memorial College" of Education under the Faculty of Education of the University. The syndicate meeting granted study leave to various faculty members proceeding abroad for PhD under Faculty Development Programme included Ms Meena Kumari for PhD from Australia, Muhammad Sharif Abassi, Syed Niamutuallah Shah, Jamshed Adil Halepoto, Asihque Ali Jhatial from UK and one year study leave to Dr Saima Qayoom Memon for Post Doctorate from University of Bristol, UK. The meeting appointed to Professor Dr Parveen Akhtar Usmani as Director of Centre for Pure and Applied Geology and Hafiz Dr Abdul Ghanni Shaikh Director Institute of Languages for next tenure and Dr Siraj Jamal Siddiqui as Chairman of the department of Public Administration.
The meeting also approved the creation of three new posts of lecturers in the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science and one post of lecturer in the department of Sociology.
The syndicate also approved educational and cultural agreement co-operation between the University of Venice and University of Sindh Jamshoro. The meeting also approved the recommendations of the 129th, 130th and 131st meetings of the selection board.
