Suspected militants threw a grenade at a crowded bus stand in Indian-held Kashmir on Saturday, killing a woman and wounding 25 people, police and witnesses said. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred on the outskirts of occupied Srinagar.
"We were waiting for the bus. Suddenly there was a loud explosion. I saw my husband and son bleeding," Khateeja Bano told reporters at a occupied Srinagar hospital. The wounded included four children, police said. Officials say violence in Indian-held Kashmir has declined since India and Pakistan launched a cautious peace process in 2004 over the disputed Himalyan region. Earlier on Saturday, Indian troops shot dead three suspected militants in a gunbattle in south of held Kashmir, police said.
