Asfandyar elected ANP president for third time

Senator Asfandyar Wali Khan has been elected President of Awami National party unopposed for third term. The Central General Council of the ANP elected Asfandyar Wali Khan as President in its meeting held on Sunday. Chief Election Commissioner Haji Muhammad Adil and members Amin Khattak, Abdul Latif Afridi, Arif Hassan and Mehrab Kakar supervised the election process.
Six hundred members of the General Council participated in the meeting. Name of Asfandyar Wali was proposed which was approved by all members unopposed no other candidate took part in the election.
The ANP General Council allowed the election of President for third time in special circumstance, which paves way for Asfandyar Wali to become President of the party for the third term.
The council elected Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilor as Senior Vice President, Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti from NWFP, Aurangzeb Khan from Sindh, Riaz A Sheikh from Punjab were elected as Vice Presidents. While Haji Adil was elected as Central Additional Secretary General, Abdul Malik Pianzai was elected as Deputy Secretary General, Zahid Khan was elected as Information Secretary, Wajid Ali was elected Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Salamat Orkzai was elected as Financial Secretary.
